Early in my Christian life, I would bring my niece to church with me. She was 5 years old at the time and immediately loved Jesus as much as I did. I would teach her about Jesus at home and she would learn about it in Sunday School. Seeing the joy on her face when she came out of Sunday School to tell me what she learned brought joy to me.

The sweetest moment that I will always remember, is one day around Christmas when she made Jesus a birthday card. I still have it. It showed God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as a five-year-old would see them. When she gave it to me, I asked if she wanted to pray.
I explained what prayer was, and when I asked “Do you want to talk to Jesus?” she said “Sure! What do I say?”
“Well, we can thank Him for everything He’s done for us. We can tell Him we love Him. And we can ask Him to help and protect our family.” So, I prayed a prayer that a five-year-old would understand and then she said, “I love you God!” and we both said “Amen”.
It was the sweetest moment and will always remind me to have the heart of a child when it comes to God.
